This simple project was started to develop a PCB circuit to stress test relay circuits automatically.
This design was the first iteration of a PCB to stress test mechanical relay circuits. It used a ne555 in a modified astable configuration along with trimming potentiometers to precisely set the duty cycle. Because of the modified astable configuration, I was able to achieve duty cycles greater than the usual ~50%.
Various indicators and external outputs would allow for additional triggers if needed. A counter circuit with LCD display would give a visual indication of the number of cycles triggered.
A similarly working prototype using many of the same sub-circuits was developed and used with a solenoid in place of the relay testing circuit (to trigger a touch screen display at defined intervals) along with a 3D printed mount. However, a fully-developed PCB and enclosure of the full unit was never completed.
